ENHANCED LEARNING
Learnings from around the world and from the heart, so that your child is future-ready

In every child, there is greatness waiting to be discovered and quality education is the key to unlocking this innate genius within each child. At GEMS, we believe in providing education, which is rooted in values, aligned to well-defined learning outcomes, truly global as well as culturally relevant and personalised to the needs of every child. Committed to the highest standards of academic excellence, GEMS students are creative, self-directed, life-long learners with the wisdom and compassion to make a positive difference to global society.

Every child can learn, just not the same day or the same way. We celebrate diversity. Thus, the learner's experience is personalised to the specific needs of each learner with effective integration of AI, Differentiated Instruction and Inclusive Practice. Teachers at GEMS schools are seen as facilitators, who share co-agency with young learners who take ownership of their own learning. GEMS Education promotes a culture of respect and collaboration. Learners are encouraged to compete with themselves rather than others, in a school culture that fosters a ‘growth mindset’.

At the very centre of the GEMS International value-based curriculum, is the development of social, emotional and creative intelligences. In them are ensconced the seminal skills this generation of learners will urgently need to cope with Industrial revolution 5.0. They are growing up in a transformative age of extraordinary creativity and innovation when skills of repetition, regimentation, and cyclical coordination are already proving obsolete for human beings. Amidst generative AI, Internet of Things and Machine learning, while working in tandem with machines, what’s most urgently needed are our very human skills, the ones that technology cannot emulate. Under Social Intelligence our children learn empathy. Perceptiveness, collaboration, negotiation, decision-making, conflict resolution, persuasive communication, sharing and respect for others’ perceptions and objective acceptance of varied points of view. They develop an informed critical voice. They would urgently require creative intelligence that urges them to question and re-think, to reconcile dilemmas, to inquire and be compassionate problem-solvers and thus naturally design-think to innovate. GEMS learners go beyond the classroom to impact a global community.

Global Citizenship Education

Global Citizenship Education in GEMS schools extends far beyond geographical boundaries, nurturing a profound understanding of interconnectedness and cultural diversity. It provides students with invaluable skills to manoeuvre through an ever-evolving world, instilling virtues of empathy, respect, and a profound sense of accountability towards both local and global communities. Through a seamless integration of detailed case studies on leadership, artists, authors and movements, students are enriched with a deeper appreciation of creative and critical thought. They embrace diverse cross-cultural perspectives and reflect empathetic care for people and the environment.

We believe in empowering students through flexibility in the choice of subjects at the senior secondary level. The students can design their own courses for study, without having to confine them to the rigidity of silos like – humanities, commerce, sciences etc. We are glad that this thinking is now also completely aligned with the NEP 2020 and the NCF 2022.

GIS offers a world-class education centred on the CBSE curriculum, emphasising inquiry-based learning. The curriculum is designed to promote exploration, creativity, and independent thinking, following an integrated approach across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains defined by Bloom. The school focuses on holistic development through various subjects, including Language Arts, Sciences, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Visual and Performing Arts. Additionally, activities such as Theatre in Education and Design Thinking enhance language, psychomotor, and cognitive skills. GIS aims to encourage critical thinking, incorporating STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) education, seamlessly integrating art, fostering holistic development through sports, and addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to create global citizens. The curriculum promotes real-world problem-solving, personalised learning, and global collaboration within the GEMS network, employing pedagogical practices like Design Thinking and Theatre in education for an engaging learning experience.
